Netmarble Bringing Mobile Action RPG Raven West As "Evilbane"
Netmarble US announced today via press release that they will be bringing the—previously South Korea-exclusive—action RPG, Raven, to the West. The Western release of the "#1 Korean mobile game" will be known as "Evilbane" and will be launching on iOS and Android later this year. Raven previously held the #1 Top Grossing spot on both the App Store and Google Play within days of its Korean launch in March 2015. It now boasts over 1 million users daily and 5 million downloads. Quite impressive numbers but it remains to be seen how it will fare in the Western market.
Evilbane will feature five gameplay modes; a Scenario mode, a 150-stage Adventure mode, Raid mode, a 1v1 Arena combat mode, and a Guild PvP mode. The press release boasts that it will deliver a "high quality, console-style experience for mobile devices," aiming to be smooth and responsive while using on-screen virtual controls. You are given a choice of three characters and it seems that they are all gender-locked without much in the way of customization. You can play as a Human, the balanced character, an Elf assassin, the speed-based character, or a Vango berserker, the slow damage character. Each of these characters has five classes that you can choose from.
More info can be found on the official site. I've included a video of Raven below to complement the cinematic trailer above. With any luck, English gameplay trailers will be soon to follow.
