Netflix’ Hit Korean Zombie Series ’Kingdom’ Is Getting A Video Game Adaptation Called Kingdom: The Blood

Netflix’ popular South Korean zombie horror series Kingdom is getting a video game adaptation titled Kingdom: The Blood. South Korean developer Action Square describes the upcoming game as a brutal yet precise hack-and-slash game and promises that it will treat Korean culture “with the utmost care.”
The show that the game is based on is set in 16th century Korea in a fictional version of the Great Joseon, the last dynastic kingdom of Korea, three years after the Imjin War. A mysterious illness has befallen the king and Crown Prince Lee Chang suddenly finds himself in the middle of a deadly epidemic that turns its victims into mindless zombies. While working to save the kingdom, he must also prevent his political rivals from seizing the throne.
Season 2’s trailer offers a good idea of what the show is about. Spoiler warning for those who haven’t finished the first season or are just planning to start watching the series.
According to PCGamer, Kingdom: The Blood will feature a story mode that follows the events of the series, as well as PvP combat, multi-boss battles, and a Conquest Mode that features “a sequence of diverse five-minute battles.”
Action Square promises to reveal more information about the game and a release date a little ways down the road. In the meantime, you can get your first look at the new K-zombie game in the official gameplay trailer below.
