American streaming platform and production company Netflix confirms that their games will be available at no extra charge to subscribers following the revelation that they will be opening their own internal video game development studio back in May. The company also revealed in their Q2 2021 investor report that they will be focusing on mobile games for the time being.

“Initially, we’ll be primarily focused on games for mobile devices. We’re excited as ever about our movies and TV series offering and we expect a long runway of increasing investment and growth across all of our existing content categories, but since we are nearly a decade into our push into original programming, we think the time is right to learn more about how our members value games,” said Netflix.

The report also outlines the Netflix’ plans to integrate games into their portfolio going forward. The company is no stranger to games either with multiple video game adaptations under their belt, such as, Castlevania, Dota: Dragon Blood, Resident Evil, and The Witcher, in addition to an actual game inspired by the third season of Stranger Things.

There’s currently no release window for Netflix’ first game, but we’ll keep you posted on any information that slips through the cracks. You can also check out the Q2 2021 Investor Report here.
