NCSoft's Q1 Financials Look Good, WildStar Drops By Over 50% And Moves To Protobucks

NCSoft's Q1 financials are here and they are looking fairly good. Net income for Q1 is up 86% year-over-year and 57% quarter-over-quarter. Sales are up 28% year-over-year and 2% quarter-over-quarter. Part of this success can be attributed to the launch of Blade and Soul in the West. Sales in the US and Europe have increased by 136% year-over-year. Additionally, Blade and Soul on its own has jumped from 32,414 to 54,018 in terms of sales.
WildStar, on the other hand, has not been doing well. WildStar Reloaded boosted sales during the fourth quarter of last year, but sales have once again plunged by over 50% this quarter, bringing WildStar to its lowest point in the past year. In addition to the news that WildStar is performing poorly, Carbine Studios announced that WildStar will be moving away from NCoin, replacing it with Protobucks. Due to WildStar's financial state, the change in cash shop currency has already sparked speculation that NCSoft may be getting ready to sell the title.
