Zelda-inspired 16-bit roguelite Mythic has been delayed by a little over a month to give its two-man development team Abyssal Studios more time to prepare it for official release. The retro-style dungeon crawler was originally scheduled to launch this week but will now be launching on September 29th.

“We’ve been working 12+ hour days every day to try to get everything ready in time for release. But it’s become clear to us that we have to choose between not delivering when we wanted to and not delivering what we wanted to,” Abyssal tweeted. “We’ve made the difficult decision to delay the release rather than release something on time that isn’t ready. Our new launch date for Mythic will be Thursday, September 29th. We’re sorry to make you guys wait but we promise it’s going to be worth it!”

On release, Mythic promises a virtually endless procedurally-generated dungeon filled with various mobs, puzzles, bosses, and treasure. Players will be able to build up their characters using five distinct skill trees as they progress through the dungeon with a “punishing death” awaiting those who fail to rise to the challenge.

While the launch might have been delayed, the official launch trailer isn’t and is available for your viewing pleasure right after the jump. You can also wishlist the game on Steam.
