MultiVersus’ Twitter And Epic Store Pages Show Activity After An Eight-Month Hiatus

It looks like MultiVersus will soon be emerging from hibernation after the Smash Bros-styled fighting game’s open beta ended roughly eight months ago. The open beta ran for nearly a year with two full seasons and several new characters added to the roster before the game was taken offline in preparation for its full release, leaving millions of players waiting for its return. Warner Bros. Games even held a $100,000 tournament just a few months before they pulled the plug.
Earlier today, the game’s Twitter account came back to life with a teaser tweet that simply reads, “*taps mic* testing, testing, 1,2,3.” It doesn’t say much, but it sparked rumors of the game’s impending relaunch, to which Warner Bros. replied with, “Oh, it’s real.”
The MultiVersus page also briefly went live on the Epic Games Store with an invalid link, lending even more credibility to the rumors. The timing also fits the game’s early 2024 release window. Warner Bros. Games, however, has yet to issue an announcement, but based on recent events, it’s likely coming soon. For now, all we can do is wait.
