Mortal Online ‘Haven’ Update Introduces A New Starting Zone And Improved Beginner Tutorial

mortal online haven trees banner“Danger is everywhere, safety must be earned,” reads the Mortal Online game description on Steam. Apparently, new players are now exempt from this rule with the release of the Haven update. The update introduces a brand new, separate, and safer starting area called Haven where newbies can safely learn the ropes of the PvP-centric MMORPG along with an improved tutorial system.

“The first character made on an account will start in this new zone. On Haven players can start their journey guided by several NPCs that teach the new players much more about the different systems that make up our sandbox mmorpg than our old tutorial.

Players are protected from full PvP by having a fledgling (yellow) flag for as long as they want. This flag is removed once the player leaves Haven and once you leave Haven you cannot come back. The banks in Haven are connected to the banks in Tindrem so players may bring things from Haven to Myrland simply by adding it to a bank and then picking it up in Tindrem.”

In addition to a new starting zone and tutorial, newbies will also get a free re-roll token upon leaving the safety of Haven just in case they need to make changes to their builds. The new guild recruitment system should also make it easier for guilds to get in touch with the freshies to help them ease into the game. Skills have also been rebalanced to lessen the grind for new players.

Haven also includes Tindrem graphical updates along with a few other tweaks and bug fixes. You’ll find a detailed list of changes in the full patch notes on the Mortal Online Steam Community Page.
