Asymmetric Horror Game Monstrum 2 Crawls Out Of Early Access Next Month

After over a year-and-a-half on Steam Early Access, asymmetric multiplayer horror game Monstrum 2 is finally ready for full release. The game takes a page from Dead by Daylight, Friday the 13th, and other games in asymmetric PvP genre where one player takes on the role of a killer, or in this case a monster, while the other four players try to escape.
“Monstrum 2 is a survival horror game for 2-5 players, set inside the procedurally-generated sea labyrinth - Sparrowlock. Join a team of prisoners evading the terrors within whilst figuring out how to escape, or become one of the deadly monstrosities whose only goal is to hunt them down.”
When playing as prisoners, you’ll have to use your wits and scavenge for tools that you and your team can use to solve various puzzles and evade the monster that’s hunting you down. As a monster, you’ll get to pick from a unique lineup of genetically-modified monstrosities, each with their own distinct traits and abilities. Depending on the monster you choose, you’ll be able to smash through obstacles, grab objects, lay down traps, or teleport to catch your prey.
Steam reviews are currently “Mixed” with most complaints centered around long matchmaking queues, an extremely low population (12 players online as of this writing), and repetitive gameplay. The game’s full release, however, might serve to draw more players in, granted that they’re willing to spend $13.99 to buy it.
