Master X Master To Hold Three-Week Closed Beta In April, City Of Heroes' Statesman Joins The Fray

It's been a while since the last Master X Master playtest, hasn't it? The last one was in, what, November? Fortunately, we won't have to wait long for the next one; NCSoft announced today that the next playtest, which will mark the beginning of Beta, will begin on April 6th and run through April 27th, giving players a full three weeks of playtime.

It was also announced today that City of Heroes may be gone, but it is far from forgotten. In a move that shows that NCSoft knows exactly what will cheer up fans of the shut down superhero MMORPG, the company has added the game's iconic character Statesman to Master X Master as a playable hero.

NCSoft West Senior Brand Manager Sean Corcoran had the following to say about the announcement.

We decided to include Statesman to recognize the fans’ love and as a tribute to the franchise. City of Heroes being part of our heritage was a perfect fit with how we have incorporated characters from several NCSOFT titles in Master X Master.
