Marvel Heroes 2016 Update Confirmed For December

Following a sneak peek at the New York Comic Con yesterday, Gazillion announced today that the Marvel Heroes 2016 title update will be coming in December. The 2016 update is intended to be a followup to the turnaround brought on by Marvel Heroes 2015—an update that you may remember for bringing their Metacritic score from 58 to 81. The team at Gazillion want to "continue this momentum with releases of new tent-pole additions on a regular basis."

The release of Marvel Heroes 2016 will be more than just a title change. It will mark the end of the Mac client beta. Leaderboards, controller support and Steam Achievements will be implemented. Major visual updates, such as those shown above, will be introduced. Content from the "All-New, All-Different" line of comics will be introduced.

A new story chapter, titled "Secret Invasion," will be introduced, as well. In it, players will be tasked with battling "alien Skrulls of all shapes and sizes." It will end with players facing off against the "long-awaited, much requested" Super-Skrull, Kl'rt.

Future additions planned include the Savage Land Patrol Zone, a "never-ending gauntlet of dinosaurs, sadistic mutants, and more." A new raid, called "Thanos," will see the Mad Titan making his debut in Marvel Heroes. More—unannounced—heroes are planned for the coming months.

Further announcements are to be made in the near future. Stay tuned!
