A good reputation is worth more than money, especially when you can get both money and valuable rewards by building your reputation, as is the case in Magic: Legends. Cryptic Studioslatest dev blog dives into the upcoming ARPG’s regional reputation system ahead of it’s open beta launch next week.

“With several planes on the brink of peril, the denizens of the Multiverse require the assistance of Planeswalkers, powerful individuals that can travel between planes. While your Spark only just formed, you’ll have to band together with your allies to help those in need. Doing so not only improves your prowess but can also net you handsome rewards.”

Unlike other MMOs, reputation in the game will be earned from particular regions instead of factions. There are five regions that players can earn reputation points from with corresponding mana colors: Benalia (White), Tolaria (Blue), Gavony (Black), Shiv (Red) and Tazeem (Green).

Players will be able to unlock Reputations and Daily Quests for a specific region once they’ve completed the story missions in the area. Each region will have 100 levels of Reputation to grind with more difficult tasks and challenges awarding higher reputation points.

In addition to Planar Mana and gold that will be given at each Reputation level, each region will also offer different rewards every 20 levels. These rewards include Rewards include unique Artifacts, Spells, or themed-costume pieces based on the region reputation is being earned at.

The Reputation and Equipment systems will just be a few of the key features that players can expect when Magic: Legends launches into open beta on PC via Arc Games on March 23. Signups are still open on the official site. Official launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One is scheduled for later this year.
