Lord Of The Rings Online Wants To Know How It Plays On The Newly-Launched Steam Deck

With the official launch of Steam Deck last week, Valve’s portable gaming platform offers a possible test bed for PC game developers looking to make the jump to consoles. Lord of the Rings Online developer Standing Stone Games is especially curious as to how the classic fantasy MMORPG plays on the newly-launched platform.
“I will be curious to see what actual user reports are of people playing LOTRO on the Steam Deck,” said Community Manager Cordovan. “As people say it seems like it should largely just work as long as you are going the Windows route, although the controls are not ready for console controls without individual adjustment and work. I would imagine the best experience would be with a mouse and keyboard, but it’ll be as good on a controller as it is today on PC.”
One of the things the community pointed out is that the game involves pressing a lot of buttons which will require a lot of work when setting up custom button layouts. Otherwise, the game seems to run quite well on Steam Deck.
More information can be found on the Lord of the Rings Online official forums. If any of you have tried it, let us know how it went in the comments section below.
