Lord Of The Rings Online Rolls Out More Corsairs Of Umbar Content Next Week
It’s almost been a month since Lord of the Rings Online: Corsairs of Umbar came out, and most players have probably already breezed through the expansion’s new quests and activities. It won’t be long though before they get a fresh new helping of content as developer Standing Stone Games prepares to roll out Update 38.1
The update arrives on December 5th and will introduce a new quest hub with more tasks and missions for players to complete. It will also kick off the Yule Hobbit Presents daily login event, paving the way for the start of this year’s Yuletide Festival on December 6th. Both events will feature a collection of new rewards for players to earn in celebration of the holiday season.
Meanwhile, the Treebeard progression server continues its leisurely crawl towards the endgame as it moves to the Helms Deep expansion and bumps up the level cap to 95 on Wednesday. The studio also offered some insight into how delving rewards are doled out, following complaints that they aren’t as lucrative as they used to be.
“When the Delving system was introduced last year we pointed out that the main purpose was to provide our more casual and solo players with a way to acquire gear, typically reserved for raids,” Standing Stone explained. “In addition to this, several evergreen rewards were meant to augment and sustain the system until a new raid tier is released and the equipment earned through Delvings is upgraded to match the current raid tier.”
“Delvings available within missions rightly now require players to be level 150 before they can be started,” the studio continued. “Rewards are being right-sized to accommodate the new level band, craft rewards, and other evergreen reward materials in the Delving loot. Gear within delvings, will only be of uncommon quality and only in higher-tier difficulties, until the raid releases. After the release of the raid, you will find rare and incomparable gear and other new rare rewards to keep aligned with the purpose of the delving system.”
The next raid is expected to arrive early next year along with the promised increase to Delving rewards. For now, there’s new Corsairs of Umbar content and the holiday events to look forward to.
