Lord Of The Rings Online Update 37 And Its River Hobbits Are Now Live

The River Hobbits have finally made their way to Lord of the Rings Online’s virtual version of Middle-earth with the release of Update 37: The Humble Homes of the Holbytlan. Players will now be able to roll the new River Hobbit race, the first Hobbit variant to be added to the 16-year-old MMORPG since its launch.
River Hobbits are slimmer than the regular Hobbits and features its own set of racial traits. The new race also has access to the Captain and Rune-keeper classes, another first for the Middle-earth’s pint-sized inhabitants. They are currently exclusively available as part of several cash shop bundles which includes an additional character slot, the cheapest of which can be bought for 1595 LOTRO Points. Those who prefer to purchase the race separately for 1000 LOTRO Points starting in February 2024.
As promised, Update 37 also introduced the new Lyndelby housing zone, a game-wide stat crunch and sweeping changes to the Beorning and Guardian classes while also setting the stage for the new Combe Forester crafting event that’s scheduled to begin on September 1st. The aforementioned stat crunch has already garnered negative feedback from the majority of the game’s players who suddenly found their characters less powerful than before.
The full patch notes can be found on the Lord of the Rings Online official site.
