Lord of the Rings Online Update 36 is now being tested on the Bullroarer server, and it's safe to say that both the developers and players alike are eagerly counting down the days until the update's release.

One of the most exciting features of Update 36 is the introduction of King's Gondor, a brand new region that promises to be decidedly cheerier than its gloomy predecessor. The reworked region is set after the Battle of Pelennor Fields and the Great Wedding of Aragorn and Arwen, offering players a bright and sunny landscape to explore.

For those familiar with the original Central and Eastern Gondor regions, you’ll feel right at home with King's Gondor from a navigation standpoint. However, be prepared for some fresh additions, with impassables being pulled down in spots to allow for more exploration.

The update also includes a new opt-in difficulty system that promises to be more rewarding than the one on the legendary progression servers with special tokens and new emotes up for grabs. The difficulty choices will range from mildly challenging up to the point where you’ll need to be playing as a group at all times.

For PvP enthusiasts, get ready to storm the castle with the new PvMP siege system which will hopefully breathe new life into the PvP scene and encourage more players to join the fight in the Ettenmoors.

If you're itching to see what the update has in store, Standing Stone Games offered a sneak peek at what’s coming to the game during a developer livestream last Friday. You can check that out in its entirety right down below.
