Lord Of The Rings Online Starts Testing New Character Customization Options

Standing Stone Games has fired up the Bullroarer test server once again to put several new surprise improvements to Lord of the Rings Online’s aging character customization system. The test build includes a whole host of new customization options for humans, including new hairstyles, skin tones, body shapes, and facial hair choices, in addition to improved textures for all races and characters.

“LOTRO is celebrating the uniqueness of every player!” announced the studio. “Our latest update celebrates individuality with additional character customization options for the Race of Men (humans) that let players express themselves in new ways.”

“We want to make as many players feel represented in the game as possible, and we are introducing new character creation options for your face, hair, and body,” the studio added. “We know there is more work to do to offer a wider variety of character creation options, and we will be following up this release with additional options in the future.”

The team notes that existing characters will remain mostly unchanged except for the texture improvements, but the new options will be available at the barber NPC for those looking to give their characters a makeover.

The upcoming Level 140 Gwathrenost, the Witch-king’s Citadel raid is also still up for testing alongside the new customization options, along with the various monster play, class, and encounter tweaks that will be coming to the classic fantasy MMORPG.
