Lord Of The Rings Online: Before The Shadow Now Purchasable Using Premium Currency

You shall not pay… for Lord of the Rings Online: Before the Shadow, unless, of course, you already bought it when it came out in November. As promised, the mini-expansion can now be purchased using LOTRO Points if you’d rather not use real-world money and is currently priced at 1990 LP which is equivalent to roughly $20.

While LOTRO Points can be bought using real-world cash, you can also earn free points by completing Deeds throughout Middle-Earth. The points are account-based which means that you can use multiple characters to save up enough points to buy the mini-expansion or whatever item you’ve been eyeing in the cash shop.

Before the Shadow features two new low-level zones, a new set of dungeons, and a revamped tutorial. Unless you’ve been saving up your LOTRO Points, it’s probably going to take a while before you can purchase the expansion for free. The Standard Edition is priced at $19.99 if you want to take the quicker route.
