Lord Of The Rings Online Teases Potential Lore Master Trait Revamp

Over the past year or so, Standing Stone Games has been shaking things up in Lord of the Rings Online with multiple class revamps in an effort to make each class a viable choice. Following the Minstrel, Captain and Warden reworks now live and the Guardian revamp on the docket, the team has now set their sights on the Lore Master.

In the current version of the game, Red Captains are an indispensable member of any raid group as they provide the support buffs necessary to complete an encounter and can deal decent damage when needed. The developers, however, are looking into making the Lore Master’s blue trait line into a viable alternative for the Red Captain.

Subsequently, Red Lore Masters will transition into a direct DPS role, Blues will be relegated to an offensive group support role with “a little less damage,” while Yellows will take on the role of defensive group support and off-healer. The team is also planning to buff pets to increase their damage, introduce shared pet skill cooldowns, and give each pet a unique identity.

The changes are still on the drawing board which means that we likely won’t be seeing them for a while. We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
