It’s been over five years since Hello Games introduced the gaming world to No Man’s Sky. Now, the British video game studio is ready to take on a brand-new open-world project called Light No Fire. The game was officially unveiled at The Game Awards earlier this week and was immediately dubbed by the gaming community as No Man’s Skyrim.

As you can probably guess, Hello Games has moved away from a space sci-fi setting in Light No Fire, in favor of a medieval fantasy theme. Hence, the nickname. It’s a co-op multiplayer game set in a single open-world planet where players will need to gather resources to craft tools and build bases and settlements to survive, or in other words, your typical survival sandbox game.

“Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth, it brings the depth of a role playing game to the freedom of a survival sandbox. Carve a life together. Meet players from across the globe, build a life, explore and survive together.”

The game promises a “truly open world” where every mountain can be climbed, and every continent and ocean can be explored with no loading screens or boundaries. Every “planet” will also be procedurally generated, offering virtually endless replay possibilities. Ridable dragons too.

There’s no release window as of yet and its likely going to be a while before we get one. For now, you can check out the absolutely hype-inducing announcement trailer below. Light No Fire is now available to wishlist on Steam if it sounds like your cup of tea.
