League of Legends Experienced Widespread Matchmaking Issues In Multiple Regions

In the 15 years since League of Legends launched, it’s almost always been online and ready for a quick match or a marathon session whenever the mood hits you. There have, however, been rare occasions when the servers went down due to an issue of some sort, the most recent of which happened yesterday afternoon.

Complaints about matchmaking issues started coming in at around 12 p.m. PST, with players noting that they were able to login and join lobbies just fine but couldn’t begin a match. Multiple regions seemed to have been affected by the issue, including North America, Europe.

Riot Games was quick to acknowledge the problem and promptly assured players that they were working on a fix, which came roughly three hours later. Everything seems to be back to normal as of this writing. See you back in the rift!
