Square Enix is looking to dip its toes into the mobile gaming market once again with what looks to be an augmented reality spinoff of Kingdom Hearts, called Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link. The game is described as a GPS action roleplaying game that’s coming to Android and iOS devices sometime next year and is being developed in partnership with Disney Pixar.

Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link will drop you into the shoes of a Drifter and will feature a new storyline that will include Disney worlds and characters. The game boasts the same fast-paced action combat as other titles in the Kingdom Hearts franchise and will track your real-world location as you collect character pieces, promising the chance to “travel the world without stepping outside.”

Square Enix is now accepting applications for closed beta testers located in the UK and Australia. Closed beta testing will kick off on November 29th for iOS users followed by an Android closed beta in January 2024. 1,500 testers will be randomly selected from the pool of applications for each platform. Sign-ups will be open until November 19th, so act fast.

The Closed Beta FAQ offers more information about the upcoming playtest requirements and restrictions.
