IllFonic Announces Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Asymmetric Multiplayer Game

There’s something strange brewing in the neighborhood as American indie developer IllFonic announces their upcoming Ghostbusters multiplayer game, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.

The game is being developed in cooperation with Columbia Pictures and will feature 4v1 asymmetric matches where a team of four Ghostbuster trainees will go up against an army of ectoplasmic threats led by an opposing player. Matches will typically take around 10 minutes and will be as family-friendly as the films.

Dan Aykroyd, who plays Ray in the original films, and Ernie Hudson, who plays Winston, will reprise their roles as the trainees’ advisors. Their resident ghost, Slimer, will also be appearing in the game.

Prepare to strap on your proton packs and charge up your gear because Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will be heading to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in Q4 2022. Check out the official announcement trailer below.
