Hex: Shards Of Fate Will Be Shutting Down At The End Of The Year
Hex: Shards of Fate (a.k.a Hex or Hex: Card Clash), one of the forerunners of the TCG craze back in 2014, will be shutting down on December 31st, 2020. Developer and publisher Hex Entertainment doesn’t give a specific reason for sunsetting the game other than they’re “required” to, but it might have something to do with the undisclosed terms of their settlement agreement with Wizards of the Coast for copyright and intellectual property infringement in 2015.
With just three months to go until the game officially closes its doors, the developers are throwing a Sunset Blowout event and have consolidated queues to make it easier for players to find games. They’ve also removed tournament costs and disabled premium currency purchases. All booster packs can now be purchased using in-game currency from the store. Players will also get free booster packs and in-game currency each day they login to the game.
Hex currently ranks as the 15th most funded game in Kickstarter with over $2.2 million pledged.
