Helldivers 2 Delisted From Three More Countries Even After Sony Walks Back PSN Linking

Helldivers 2’s player numbers took a big hit last weekend after the squad-based shooter was pulled from Steam in countries and regions that aren’t supported by the PlayStation Network. While Sony has since reversed its decision to require mandatory PSN account linking on Steam, the game still remains delisted in the said regions.

Even so, the ranks of Super Earth’s soldiers just got even smaller as the game gets delisted from three more countries due to an “administrative error correction” by Valve. As of this weekend, Helldivers 2 is no longer accessible from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Arrowhead Games CEO Johan Pilestedt was quick to defend the studio and Sony, saying that the new regional restrictions were solely Valve’s decision and that Arrowhead and Sony played no part in it Unfortunately, it looks like Valve has no intention of reversing the new restrictions anytime soon.

“While it doesn’t look positive, it’s not an indication of further restrictions,” Pilestedt said. “The conversation on region restrictions is still ongoing and is independent of this. I have no further information. We (Arrowhead) still want the game to be available everywhere.”

Valve, however, is pointing fingers at Sony. “It looks like the game is not available in Steam right now for specific regions as decided by the publisher. This information is all we have right now,” reads part of the support response,” says the support team.

It’s important to note that the region-locking was implemented months after players were able to purchase and play the game. It’s unclear whether Helldivers 2 will be returning to PSN-locked countries or whether affected players will be refunded for their purchase.
