Upcoming Extraction Shooter Hawked Announces Limited Closed Beta Test This Weekend

Hawked is a new Indiana Jones-inspired PvPvE extraction shooter that drops players into the shoes of treasure-hunting mercenaries called Renegades. Their mission is to recover powerful ancient artifacts on a remote island called X-Isle that indie developer Upwake.me describes as “an ever-evolving world filled with mountains, jungles, and ancient temples.”

“HAWKED is an online PvPvE extraction shooter. Squad up to explore a mysterious island, battle monsters, outwit enemy players to steal ancient treasures, and get the hell outta there!”

To complete their task, they’ll face off against aggressive monsters and each other, dodge traps, and solve puzzles as they scour the island for the artifacts and get safely to the extraction point. They’ll also be able to customize their Renegades with unique weapons and equipment which will presumably be left behind should they meet their untimely demise during their treasure-hunting escapades on the island.

Upwake.me will be holding an alpha test this weekend with around 2,000 players expected to participate. To throw your name into the hat, simply head over to the Hawked Steam page and click on the Request Access button.

Hawked is expected to launch into Early Access in 2023 as a buy-to-play game with plans to transition to a free-to-play game on full release. Pricing and other information will be announced as we move closer to launch day.
