Haven and Hearth's Latest Patch Drives Players Batty
Disenfranchised players dismayed by the new business model may still be cursing Jorb and Loftar's names but that isn't stopping them from updating the game at a great pace. Today's update added offline healing, asphyxiation damage when you run out of stamina underwater, and bats, the latter of which players aren't too happy about.

As you can see from the thread, many players are complaining that bats are too tough and too frequent. There are arguments in there that a well-lit room or cave with a fire will keep them away but the majority seem to think bats are maddening, even taking over one player's house. Jorb has promised to think over the current implementation of bats but I have a feeling they won't be changed much, if at all. I suspect that most of the deaths of the claimed "half of the player base" can be attributed to growing pains associated with learning the behavioral patterns of a new AI monster that happens to also swarm.
Also included in this update is a note that they will be changing payment providers, from PayPal to Xsolla. This was done because several countries, such as Russia, were unable to purchase from the Store reliably and had to resort to various trades on the forums.
This patch has also received a $5 in-game Nurse Hat that can be purchased to support the patch, much like the Devs Suck sign from the last patch. Unfortunately, no one has taken an in-game screenshot of themselves wearing it yet but you can see the 2D image of it at the link above.
