Halo Infinite’s Updated Season 2 Roadmap Draws Flak From Players

343 Industries has promised a ton of features coming to Halo Infinite with the start of the first-person shooter’s next season. Unfortunately, the studio has decided to push some of those features back as part of their “priority zero” approach to improving the work-life balance of their team.
According to the 343’s newly-updated roadmap, the new Catalyst Arena and Breaker BTB maps are still on track for release in Season 2, along with the new King of the Hill, Land Grab, and Last Spartan Standing game modes. The team will also be launching the new 100-tier battle pass at the beginning of the new season.
Other features such as network co-op for the campaign and beta testing of the new Forge toolset have been delayed to August and September, respectively.
“This roadmap reflects the same studio priorities that we shared back in March with a ‘priority zero’ of team health and getting ourselves into a sustainable development rhythm so that we can deliver great experiences to all of you while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.”
“We know we need to deliver more content and more features more quickly,” acknowledged the team. “Staying true to priority zero means that sometimes we need to slow down in order to stay healthy and move faster later. But we’re also aggressively looking at ways to accelerate.”
As with most delays, the community didn’t take too kindly to the news despite the 343’s reasons. Players have voiced their complaints on Reddit calling out the studio and its upper management for broken promises, lackluster updates, and poor release timing.
Season 2 kicks off on May May 3rd. You can catch a sneak peek at the new maps and game modes in the videos below. You can also drop by the Halo Infinite official site for more info.
