Gloria Victis' World Slowly Comes To Life

Gloria Victis version 0.5.5 has launched, bringing with it the first sparks of life that make the game world feel alive. NPCs can now fight NPC enemies. For example, foxes will sneak onto farms and attempt to steal chickens. Poachers will hunt wild animals. Mercenaries will fight other factions in the Valley of Death. NPC guards will also now help players defend flags captured in the Valley of Death—supposedly under the pretense of reducing the advantage that the winning nation has.

Resource nodes are now exhaustible. They can now be depleted, replaced with a different kind of resource. This is meant to keep players hunting for the best locations to harvest resources, as well as give them the ability to cause more of an impact on "the surrounding reality."

The character selection menu has also been revamped. The team wanted to improve the new player experience by increasing immersion "from the very beginning." Not to mention that the new character selection menu looks quite a lot nicer than the old one.
