Gloria Victis’ official launch yesterday went as well as MMORPG veterans would have hoped, which is to say that it wasn’t a complete disaster but it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing either. Players reported the usual launch day problems such as login issues, long loading times, connection problems, and other bugs, most of which have been addressed with a hotfix with more hotfixes to come.

The PvP sandbox MMO’s Version 1.0 release was also accompanied by a patch that reworked crafting quests so that they can now be accessed from three different noticeboards every eight hours. The patch also tweaked character progression bonuses, introduced several quality-of-life enhancements, and fixed a handful of terrain and model bugs.

Developer Black Eye Games also opened New Beginning Servers for those who want to start fresh. Existing players will still be able to play on the Legacy Servers which haven’t and won’t ever be wiped as promised.

“Current players do not need to create any additional account to play on either server type, but you will need to create a new character if you wish to play on the New Beginning servers,” said the devs. “Our game has a cross-server database. This gives players the opportunity to trade between servers, play on other servers of the same type (Legacy or New Beginning) to support underdog nations or do cross-server events like the Valley of Death Tournament.”

The game is currently on sale at 50% off until February 15th on Steam if you haven’t already bought a copy for yourself.
