After a slight delay that was used to add more servers, Black Eye Games announced earlier today that Gloria Victis has launched on Steam Early Access. Two years of work and a name change later, the game is finally available on Valve's ever popular digital storefront.

With the launch on Steam, the base price has risen from $9.99 to $19.99, both on Steam and on the official website. The price increase is part of regular price calculations done in order to "cover the costs of the constant development of Gloria Victis, upkeep the servers and supporting the game after release." The final version of the game will have a "a free, content-limited trial with the possibility to eventually unlock the content through gameplay," but the current version requires payment and gives access to all current and future content without the need to unlock it.

The game already features non-targeting combat, classless progression, fame and disgrace, open PvP, and territorial control. Over the course of Early Access, "full-scale sieges," mounts, sailing, naval combat, and more will be added. There will even be "side activities" like fishing, gambling, and beer drinking contests.
