Wurm Online’s Game Chest Group Reports Q2 Profit Loss But Says They’re Right On Track

2023 hasn’t been good to Game Chest Group, the owner of Wurm Online developer Code Club, with the company seeing negative profits for Q2 2023. The company’s quarterly financial report shows a total revenue of 1.6 million SEK (roughly $175,000), a slight increase from the $1.5 million that it raked in over the same period last year but wasn’t quite enough to cover the company’s expenses that amounted to roughly 1.9 million SEK.
Game Chest CEO Krister Elmgren cited “depreciation and goodwill” for the profit loss but assured its investors and the community that they’re right on track as they continue to work on optimizing business processes and reduce spending.
Elmgren also noted that Q2 2023 was the first full quarter as the new owners of Code Club and that they’ll continue to focus on increasing player numbers through new branding and marketing strategies. He also teased plans to optimize Wurm Online’s graphics, improve game design, and introduce new quality-of-life features.
“We are looking forward to this year’s opportunities, and emphasize that our journey has only just begun. Up to proof, now we’re driving!” he said.
