Funcom Announces Halloween-Themed 1v1 Game, Hide And Shriek

Funcom announced today that its second smaller game project, a Halloween-themed 1v1 scare-em-up called "Hide and Shriek," will be released on Halloween—October 31st—of this year. Described as "a one vs. one multiplayer romp played out in ten minute matches," two invisible players attempt to scare each other half to death. They are required to use "cunning traps and potent spells" to make their opponent visible, after which they will attempt to scare them. According to the press release, "if there is no clear winner when the timer stops, the player with the most points wins the game."

Funcom CEO Rui Casais had the following to say about the announcement.

Last year we were the ones scaring the players, this year they’ll be doing the scaring. ’Hide and Shriek’ is a ticket to quick, fun ten-minute multiplayer matches where players get to indulge in the spirit of Halloween by setting each other up with traps and surprises.
