Fractured Online Expected To Return In February As Gamigo Continues To Clear Out Its Portfolio

Fractured Online will soon be coming back online after it was discreetly removed from Gamigo’s official site last month. This was after the publisher suffered a sweeping round of layoffs, shut down the Aeria Games Portal, and pawned off several other games to different publishers.

Back then, Fractured Online’s developer, Dynamight Studios, claimed that the game’s sudden disappearance from Gamigo’s website had nothing to do with whatever problems the publisher was facing nor was it a problem with SpatialOS, the game’s engine. According to Dynamight, they pulled the game from the shelves, wiped all progress, and reverted it back to closed testing due to issues with its third-party backend platform which was responsible for managing the servers.

Dynamight co-founder and CEO Jacopo Galleli now reports that the game is running on the studio’s own servers and apparently independent of Gamigo, despite their previous claims. He also assures the community that they aren’t running the servers from their basement and that the service is being provided by a hosting company called OVH with no third-party in between.

Galleli also revealed that they’re looking to bring the sandbox MMORPG back online by February. “We’re still far from having all the tools we need to easily launch, monitor and manage our game servers – there was still too much manual work involved in today’s launch, but at this point we are confident we won’t be offline for long after the 31st of January.”

Meanwhile, Gamigo has apparently continued to pull other titles from its website over the holidays including GoodGame Big Farm, GoodGame Empire, Wizard101, and Pirate101. The publisher is now operating just six MMOs (down from the 24 games it had listed in 2020): Desert Operations, Fantasy Town, Fiesta Online (NA), RIFT, Trove, and Wargame 1942.
