Fractured Online Revamps Aerhen And Magic Staves, Brings Back City Raids

Dynamight Studios continues to polish up Fractured Online as closed beta testing for the sandbox MMORPG continues. Headlining the latest beta update is a revamp of the Syndesian continent of Aerhen which includes the addition of a new explorable zone in the center of the continent and several new abilities.
“It was about time that Aerhen, our latest continent, received some well-deserved love and attention. With this update, we’re finally making its most central location, Dawn Island, available for everyone to explore. The place is filled with the glimmering Crystal Elementals, from which you can acquire the following brand new abilities: Crystalline Skin, Crystalline Touch, Crystal Shackles, Primal Storm. Get ready to tweak and adapt your build(s)!”
Sulphurite and Platinum nodes in the Aerhen have also been fixed, giving players access to new crafting resources that can only be found on the continent. The continent’s mini-map has also been updated with a cartoonish new look to make it easier for players to identify roads and cliffs. According to the devs, the new stylized version of the mini-map can also be applied to the continent of Myr if players like it. Players can also look forward to new Legends spawning in Aerhen in a future update.
Aside from giving Aerhen some love, the team has also brought back City Raids and updated its rewards.
“Raids may now be launched again by a city against another city on the same continent, disregarding if it’s neighboring or not. A successful raid will award the winning city with an amount of gold and food equal to that required to raise the losing city from its previous rank to its current one. If the losing city has enough food and gold in its treasury, said amount will be subtracted, otherwise nothing is subtracted but the losing city is deranked.”
Mage Staves have also been updated with new visuals and mechanics. All Mage Staves, except for the Primitive Staff, now grant unique bonuses in line with the team’s goal of making mages more competitive.
The update also introduces player corpse markers, new sound effects, and a handful of bug fixes. Details can be found in the full patch notes on the Fractured Online official site.
