Fortnite Broke Its Daily User Record As 44 Million Players Arrived For Its OG Season

Millions of players flocked to Fortnite for a big dose of nostalgia following the launch of its Fortnite OG season this past weekend. The new season takes players back to the battle royale shooter’s original Island map as it was in Chapter 1: Season 5. It’s proven to be a massive hit as a record-breaking 44 million players descended on the game on launch day.
The game also logged a peak player concurrency of nearly six million players, a far cry from its standing 12 million concurrent player record but still impressive just the same. Just in case you were wondering, that record was set during the in-game Travis Scott concert back in 2020.
Over the next four weeks, Epic Games will be unlocking new OG content one season at a time, starting with Season 6 on November 9th. The Season 7 and 8 reruns will go live November 16th followed by Season 9 and 10 (X) on November 26th. Players can also look forward to the return of each season’s marquee items during their respective week-long runs.
