Fortnite Makes The Zombie Apocalypse Fun, Now In Early Access

fortnite make shelterI had just written about zombie survival game Dead Matter earlier today saying that the market was already saturated with these types of games, when lo and behold another one pops up on my news feed. Fortnite, however, is unlike any other zombie survival game out there and is definitely a breath of fresh air from the usual survival horror formula.

Fortnite does away with dark and gloomy environments in favor of colorful cartoony visuals you’d expect to find more in shooters like Team Fortress rather than a post-apocalyptic survival game. Blood and gore is also replaced by bright and flashy effects and purple mist making the game suitable for younger players.

Fortnite is now out in Early Access for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One as of today. You’ll need to purchase a Founder’s Pack to get into the game though. Founder’s Packs range from $39.99 for the Standard Edition all the way up to $149.99 for the Limited Edition pack which contains exclusive skins and weapons. Or, you can wait until the game goes free-to-play, which, according to Epic Games, will be some time in 2018.

We’ve included both the official cinematic and gameplay launch trailers for your viewing pleasure right after the jump. Enjoy!
