Fortnite Looks to Grow Their Playerbase, Battle Royale Mode FREE for Everyone

It seems every company and their mother wants to break through into the Battle Royale genre. And with good reason - PUBG has been kicking ass and taking names as of late, showing there is a high demand for battle royale-style games. So it only makes sense that other games want to get their own piece of the pie - or at the very least, try to.
While Fortnite's Battle Royale mode has been milling about for a while, it will now officially be made FREE for all players on September 26th! No Early Access Founder's Pack required.
Today, Epic Games has some exciting news: on September 26, Fortnite Battle Royale will be free for everyone on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Mac. This PvP mode puts 100-players on a giant map with destructible environments, where they’ll combine their Fortnite building and combat skills to be the last one standing.
The Battle Royale mode in Fortnite does look considerably different than the ever-popular PUBG. Check the trailer for it down below - it might be worth looking into, if you're looking for a more cartoony, whimsical battle royale shooter. This is a smart move on Fortnite's part - if a company's end goal is to grow their playerbase, making a free Battle Royale mode instead of forcing players to pay is a sound business decision.
