Is The Fortnite Comet A Sign Of Impending Changes To The Game?

If you’ve been playing Fortnite these past couple of days you probably noticed something strange in the skies above Tilted Towers. Multiple players have reported seeing the ominous comet but the big question is, what does it mean?

According to Polygon, the most popular fan theory is that Tilted Towers, an area rife with weapons and gear, will be impacted by the comet, consequently nerfing the area and restoring balance to the game. Player ChlorophyteFTW explains in his forum post:

"Firstly, most of us hate it, it removes the flow of the game, it is the location in the centre, so the storm will mostly be near it, which means tilted towers gets loads of people, nowadays nobody lands to Greasy grove, lucky landing, haunted hills, and the original wailing woods and lonely lodge; tilted towers is why. And, epic games hate it as well.”

ChlorophyteFTW also reports that the comet is getting larger by the day, and that telescopes have also been added on the mountain.

Other theories say that a cosmic event might be Epic’s way of closing out the current season of Battle Royale. There’s also talk of an extinction-level event, space-themed content, and aliens. The team, however, remains close-mouthed about the subject.

Of course, this could all be an elaborate April Fool’s prank. What we do know, is that Fortnite is now available on iOS devices and is under development on Android. Pastel-themed gear are also available in the shop for a limited time in celebration of Easter. Grab them while they’re hot.
