Final Fantasy XI Buffs Odyssey Sheol Gaol And Adds New Year Of The Tiger Ambuscade

For a game that’s basically in maintenance mode, Final Fantasy XI is still getting a lot of content drops aimed at helping endgame players get stronger. The latest game update features changes to Odyssey Sheol content which includes more powerful enemies and an increase to the augmentation cap.
“We’re increasing the Vengenace cap for Odyssey’s Sheol: Gaol to +20. This naturally means that eligible equipment can be augmented to even greater heights, so you’ll be able to boost up your gear to higher attributes than before. It goes without saying that the foes within will also grow more powerful, but...well, I’ve decided to say it anyway. Tackle the trials within and claim your powerful equipment!”
Ambuscades are also getting their new monthly rotation with the return of Goblins in Intense Ambuscades and a battle against Smilodons in Normal Ambuscades to celebrate the Year of the Tiger. “The smilodon will call for aid when its HP gets low, with the black tiger’s resistances changing based on how much magical or physical damage has been dealt,” warns the devs.
The Promyvion map-giver NPC has also been relocated to a fixed position and the Apex monsters patrolling the path to ZNM Ob spawns have been removed to make it easier for players to reach the said locations.
As for the Voracious Resurgence, Square Enix is taking a break from adding story content this month but promises to continue the narrative in February.
The full patch notes can be found on the Final Fantasy XI official site if you want to take a look.
