Final Fantasy XI Game Director Teases ‘Thrilling Conclusion’ To Voracious Resurgence
After running for nearly three years, Final Fantasy XI’s Voracious Resurgence storyline is coming to an end this year. Game Director Yoji Fujito revealed during his end-of-the-year recap that the “thrilling conclusion” to the ongoing storyline is coming this year in addition to a new Master Trial, Reforged Prime Weapons, and chat improvements, among others.
“The Development and Operations teams are looking to make 2023 one to remember, and we pledge to make Vana’diel a more fun and comfortable place to adventure than ever before,” Fujito wrote. “We hope you continue to walk with us on this wonderful journey.”
Fujito also looked back on the numerous content updates that the 20-year-old MMORPG received over the past year which included the 20th anniversary event, new Voracious Resurgence arcs, master levels, and sorties. That’s a lot of new content for a game that’s supposed to be dormant and in maintenance mode since 2015, possibly even more than other “active” titles in the genre.
