Final Fantasy XI Will Get A New High-Tier Battlefield With The July Update

Square Enix is hitting pause on the ongoing Final Fantasy XI Voracious Resurgence storyline in this month’s update, and will instead be adding a new high-tier battlefield. New rewards are up for grabs for players who successfully complete the challenge within.

The July update will also feature the return of the Sahagin for Expert Ambuscades, while the normal version will pit players against mushrooms. “When fighting them, it’s best to remember that darkness is best banished using light—so how you handle the dark elemental present will be key. After all, mushrooms grow best where it’s dark...,” the team advised.

Players can also expect performance and game control improvements thanks to several back-end changes that will be rolling out with the update. The update is scheduled to arrive on July 12. Details can be found on the Final Fantasy XI official site.
