Fans Are Campaigning To Have Dragon Quest X Localized

For perhaps the first time ever, there seems to be a real chance that Dragon Quest X could be localized for the Western market. According to a fan that has been in touch with Square Enix support, if Square Enix sees enough support tickets requesting an English localization of the game, they may very well consider it. Support has apparently been helpful to the point that they've offered to put said fan in touch with the game's developers.

Having recently played the Japanese version of the game myself, I can say that Dragon Quest X is quite possibly one of the most unique MMORPGs I've played. It is a literal JRPG as an MMO. The combat is akin to the Active Time Battle system and actions stack if you take too long. Quest objectives are sometimes unmarked and require you to pay attention to the dialogue to see where to go next. It's quite different, but it's a game I would very much like to see in the West.

As outlined in the fan's post, all you would have to do to support the campaign is submit a "polite" support ticket that requests an English localization of Dragon Quest X.
