EverQuest Ends 32-Bit Client Support As EverQuest 2 Starts Testing The New Kael Drakkel Server

As previously announced, Darkpaw Games has officially retired and ended support for EverQuest 32-bit clients as part of their efforts to improve the game’s overall performance. The system requirements have increased a bit but not enough that most modern rigs won’t be able to run the new 64-bit client.
“Significant effort was put into preparing the game for this moment so we’re very excited for this smooth transition, and for what this may bring to the game in the future,” said Darkpaw.
Meanwhile, EverQuest 2’s new “Kael Drakkel” Lore and Legend server is now up for beta testing in preparation for its launch on February 22nd. The new server applies a unique ruleset that starts players off at level 90 and scales them down to the required level of the zone they’re visiting. Players will also have the chance to score special loot drops, a free level 90 gear set, and make a name for themselves in the achievement leaderboard.
