Earlier this month, Darkpaw Games introduced a personal loot reward system for Renewal of Ro heroic zones that guaranteed individual loot rolls for each player who helped defeat the encounter. While the system itself is a welcome addition, the developers later decided to add keys that players could purchase from the cash shop to increase the number of treasure rolls they got or even guarantee a gear drop.

Obviously, this didn’t sit well with the community who accused Darkpaw of employing pay-to-win and pay-to-raid practices on the official forums. In response, the team has pulled the said keys from the cash shop with the promise to no longer create similar items in the future.

“We heard you and understand that there were particular elements of the Libant Heritage Crate that run counter to our shared values,” said Darkpaw.

Subsequently, personal loot rewards will no longer be employed in the future, although the developers are looking into other ways to lock loot without the need to lock out zone timers. “We feel this is healthier for the game and allows people to help friends, guildmates and even join pick-up groups without too much worry of large amounts of loot coming into the world too quickly,” Darkpaw concluded.
