EverQuest 2 Celebrates 17th Anniversary With New Expansion Art And The Heroes’ Festival

EverQuest 2 is celebrating its 17th anniversary this week, and if you were around when the game first launched in November 2004, then you’re probably feeling really old right now. The annual Heroes’ Festival is now live and will run until November 15th as part of the game’s anniversary celebrations.
“Today, let's take a walk down memory lane and reminisce about how far we've all come. Just this past year alone we've raised flagons together on Brew Day, we've pulled the veil aside to help you get to know some of our designers and programmers, we've shared a few laughs thanks to the mischief of Bristlebane, we've braved the shadows, and now as we celebrate the Heroes' Festival (check it out if you haven't already!), let's embrace the future where we're all about to be devoured by cannibalistic pygmies and a giant, angry, spikey lizard.”
This year’s anniversary event features a new quest called “One Afterlife to Live” that can be picked up from Lothaire Stormgazer in Freeport. New festival-themed house items and equipment, including two new mounts, are also available for purchase from the event merchant.
Darkpaw Games has also released new high-quality art for each of the game’s expansions, including the upcoming Visions of Vetrovia expansion which is currently in beta testing. You can check out the new splash art on the EverQuest 2 official site for a hit of nostalgia. You can also pre-order Visions of Vetrovia here to get access to the ongoing playtest.
