EVE Online Mobile Spin-Off EVE: War Of Ascension Set To Launch Later This Year

Back in October, CCP Games revealed in EVE Vegas that they were working on an EVE Online mobile game which initially went by the code name “Project Aurora”. The studio has now revealed that the upcoming game will go by the title EVE: War of Ascension.

According to Venture Beat, the mobile spin-off will have most of the backbone features of the PC MMO such as the ability to form alliances, hex maps, installations, and of course, spaceships. According to Producer Sam Barton, the game will slowly hint at EVE lore through quests rather than revealing everything with a bunch of text.

CCP Games is developing the game in partnership Finnish development studio PlayRaven and mobile publishing giant Kongregate. The game is planned for launch on iOS and Android later this year. We’ll keep you up to date as we learn more.
