Ethyrial: Echoes Of Yore Is Due For Another Big Revamp To Make It Safer For Life Skillers

Another major overhaul is looming on the horizon for Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore as developer Gellyberry Studios continues to act on feedback from the old school MMORPG’s community. The overhaul will focus on making the world of Irumesa and the Solitary Isles safer for players, particularly those who want to focus on improving their life skills.

As Ethyrial players already know, getting killed in the game means that you’ll lose everything you’re carrying. Unfortunately, the game’s full-loot death mechanics makes it difficult for crafters and life skillers to make any meaningful progress.

In response, the team announced on Discord that it will be revamping the game world and redistributing resources to allow players to engage in crafting, gathering, and other life skills in relative peace, without the risk of being ganked by other players.

The upcoming revamp is part of Gellyberry’s larger efforts to turn player sentiment around following the now-free-to-play MMORPG’s rocky launch in May last year. The studio’s problems were further compounded by a nasty hack in November that resulted in the deletion of over 17,000 player accounts.

Subsequently, the team has pushed back the game’s next update to late January or early February. The update, however, will be a bit larger than originally planned.
