Escape From Tarkov's Extended Alpha is here. More players are now allowed in, with those who pre-ordered at the "Prepare for Escape" tier being given a 75% chance of getting into the Extended Alpha, whereas those who pre-ordered at the "Left Behind" tier have a 50% chance of getting in. New content has been added, allowing players to explore a new raid location known only as "the Woods." Several new systems, including a group system, have been implemented. Various existing systems have been improved.

The highlights from the Extended Alpha update are as follows.

  • A new raid location, the Woods - wide open spaces, dense forest vegetation, entirely new tactics and game experience
  • Weapon failure and repair system
  • Ability to create groups for going into raids together
  • Improved game physics
  • Additional performance optimization and fixes for existing issues

If you have yet to pre-order Escape From Tarkov, you can do so here. You will need to pre-order at the Left Behind tier or higher in order to have a chance to get into the Extended Alpha, meaning you will need to spend at least $75.

It should be noted that, while there was talk of the NDA being lifted during Extended Alpha, the NDA has not yet been lifted. The press release explains the situation as follows: "The NDA will be cancelled in several stages, as soon as there are no critical obstacles."

As an added bonus, Battlestate Games has published a "year in review" video that you can find embedded below.
