It’s been a big year for Stormhaven Studios with Embers Adrift officially making the jump from beta to full release back in October. With the start of a brand-new year now looming on the horizon, Executive Producer John Gust is taking the opportunity to talk up the game and Stormhaven’s design inspiration and philosophy for the old-school MMORPG in an hour-long interview with New Overlords.

During the interview, Gust touched on various aspects of the game, including its PvE-focused gameplay, group-centric design, and the use of lighting and color palettes to enhance the overall player experience. He also talked about their decision to charge a buy-in price and a monthly subscription for the game which he says allows the developers to focus on creating and releasing new content instead of having to constantly cook up new cash shop items.

While most of the things that Gust mentioned in the interview isn’t exactly news for Embers Adrift players and fans, it does offer a bit more insight into the studio’s vision and plans for the old-school RPG-inspired title.
