The launch of a major update or expansion in an MMO has always been the perfect example of Murphy’s Law in action. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, as ZeniMax Online Studios can attest to. The studio is currently struggling to address various server problems that cropped up in Elder Scrolls Online following the release of the Ascending Tide DLC last week.

According to reports on the official forums, PC and console players of the Elder Scrolls MMORPG have been experiencing long load times, latency and lag issues, disconnections, and crashes. While console issues seem to have been fixed following several maintenance downtimes, PC players in the NA region continue to experience problems.

“Over the past few days, we’ve been actively investigating the ongoing issues that have been mainly affecting PC NA. Each evening as we approach primetime hours, our team has been making adjustments on the backend in attempts to identify what’s causing these issues and try to lessen the impact,” reported the devs.

“We have not yet identified a single root cause, especially given how much more these issues are affecting one server compared to the others,” they said. “We’ve been logging into the game and experiencing the increased lag and load screens too and we want you to know that finding and fixing what’s causing these issues is our #1 priority right now.”

We’ll let you know as soon as ZeniMax comes up with a fix. More information can also be found on the Elder Scrolls Online official forums.
